CONTROL-CONTROL are a three piece hailing from Fremantle Western Australia. They have just recorded their debut EP 'Satellites and the Sea' and launched it at a sell-out show at the Norfolk Basement.
Their sound has been described as 'acoustic rock' with a sleek, dark and professional sound.
The band is made up of Grant Christensen, on guitars and vocals, Hayley Wellington on bass guitar and Scott Hyde on drums. The band formed in mid 2009 and played a string of shows around town, receiving a lot of positive feedback from punters. With the strong affirmation that they were onto a good thing, the band headed into the studio and the EP 'Satellites and the Sea' was born.
Soon after launching the EP was reviewed in Xpress Magazine and described, "While the acoustic guitar may be the backbone of this band, the sound on this record is 'big' - not quite Led Zeppelin stadium 'big' - but booming, dramatic and epic." Also, "a refreshingly hi-fi local acoustic release". Which was achieved by recording the EP at Loop Studios in Perth.
Control-Control are now set to take on 2010 armed with the EP and revved up to work hard on the Australian music scene.
This is one band that you will not regret listening to, or if your lucky to catch one of their live energetic shows.
